Innovation Award Finalist

Southern Innovation has been named a finalist in the AusIndustry ‘Innovation' Award at Anthill's 4th Annual Cool Company Awards (www.anthillonline.com).

"Southern Innovation should be very pleased with its success," said James Tuckerman, Editor-In-Chief, Anthill Magazine. "Though not a winner this year, making the final three in their category is an outstanding achievement; the Cool Company Awards attracted over 350 nominations from some very cool companies from all across Australia."

The Anthill Cool Company Awards were launched in 2006, as a way to acknowledge and celebrate Australian companies that are doing things differently to bring about positive change.

 

The iAwards 2009 IBM Research & Development, State Winner

SITORO® won the 2009 Victorian IBM iAward  for Research & Development (www.iawards2009.com). The award, run by the Australian Information Industry Association, celebrates Australia's leading information and communication technology innovators.

As the Victorian winner, SITORO® is in the running for the national iAward, to be announced on 27 May 2009. National winners are invited to represent Australia in innovation awards for the Asia-Pacific region. The iAwards recognise innovation in 16 categories. As the Victorian winner of the IBM Research & Development category, SITORO® was judged the leader on criteria including creativity, commercial potential, product stability and useability.

 

Next Big Thing Award
 Finalist

Recognising innovations throughout Australia and the world, INNOVIC’s Next Big Thing Award  promotes new innovation and assists inventors in business development (www.nextbigthingaward.com).

SITORO® was was announced as a 2009 finalist on 6 April. The 25 finalists will be showcased in a six-week exhibition at the Melbourne Museum (30 May to 12 July). Each year this high-profile exhibition attracts tens of thousands of visitors. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on 2 July. In 2008 the Next Big Thing Award was won by an environmentally friendly concrete, while the People’s Choice award was won by a robotic golf buggy.

Deloitte Technology Fast 50

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is part of a global Fast 500 programme, which runs in parallel with over 20 other countries including the UK, USA and China.

The Technology Fast 50 ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies based on their increase in revenue over the previous three years. In addition to the Fast 50, Deloitte acknowledge fast growing companies that do not meet all the eligibility criteria yet are making a name for themselves through the development and commercialisation of highly innovative technology via their Rising Star Award.

Secrets of IT Innovation, 2006
2nd Place Business  solutions

The Secrets of Australian IT Innovation competition, held in 2006 as an initiative of the Committee Marketing ICT (Information and communications technology) for Australia, received 120 entrants. They evaluated by a panel of judges drawn from venture capital, media, business development and legal organisations, major ICT companies as well as industry experts.

This award strives to select and promote Australia's most innovative information and communication technology companies to a global audience.
